More About Me

Testimonials from clients or former clients, for reasons of professional ethics, cannot be made public.  So I am using this page to tell you more about myself and my background.  My parents were first generation immigrants from a small village in Japan.  I was always fascinated by body movement, and studied to become a dancer in Los Angeles, where I danced professionally while in my twenties.  Later I moved to San Francisco, where I met my future husband.  We are longtime residents of the Bay Area and are the proud parents of a daughter, who also became a dancer, as well as a choreographer.  After obtaining my teaching credential, I worked for many years as a public school teacher in Hayward, meanwhile continuing my studies to become a psychotherapist.  After graduating from the Masters' program in psychotherapy at John Kennedy University, I was accepted as an intern at Blue Oak Psychotherapy Center in Berkeley.  It was while interning at Blue Oak that I worked toward obtaining my license as a Marriage and Family Therapist.  Later I earned my certificate as a certified Somatic Experience Practitioner.  I consider myself both fortunate and privileged to be working in the healing arts, where I feel I have found my true calling in life!
