About Me and My Practice |
||
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from California State University at Hayward. I earned my Master of Arts degree in Psychotherapy at John Kennedy University and later interned at Blue Oak Therapy Center in Berkeley. My office is at Kensho Center in Berkeley, where I have two colleagues: Linda Haraguchi, LMFT, and Diana Shapiro, LMFT. As a Nisei (second generation) Japanese American woman who spent my formative years in Los Angeles, I am familiar with issues involving discrimination and ethnic sensitivity. As a woman of Asian heritage, wife, mother, grandmother and former school teacher now living and practicing in Berkeley, I feel that I am uniqely qualified to deal with issues involving family, ethnicity, and interpersonal relations. As a psychotherapist I believe holistic healing in psychotherapy can best be achieved by heeding what our mind, body, and spirit tells us. If we are open to the messages from within us, true healing can happen.
